West Alabama Public Engagement
Our development of the West Alabama Improvement Project included two primary methods of public engagement:
Public Meeting – The initial stage of the public engagement process included an in-person public meeting to provide context for the West Alabama Improvement Project as well as the design alternatives that are being considered. The meeting served as the initialization of the project’s public comment period, allowing both meeting attendees and the general public the ability to leave comments regarding the project in a number of methods, including email, voicemail and USPS mail. Materials related to the public meeting can be found in the Documents Library Section of the web site.
Survey – At the conclusion of the public meeting, we invited meeting attendees and the general public to take an interactive MetroQuest survey to gain direct public input regarding their experience with the project corridor as well as their preferred design alternative.
All public input was gathered during the designated public input timeframe of August 17 through October 1, 2021.
